Taylormade Burner Irons

A couple of days ago I bought new irons, I went to Golfsmith in Austin to hit the range to compare three different sets of irons: the Ping G15, Taylormade Burner irons, and the Titleist AP1’s. My thoughts going into the buying process was that the G15’s would be my immediate favorite followed by the Burners. After hitting a couple of shots with the Ping’s I decided the club face was just too fat and my stroke wasn’t as clean as I hoped. After hitting the Taylormade Burner irons I was incredibly impressed with the clean face and the ball seemed to rocket off of the club. The Burner’s immediately felt like the right club, but I still tried out the AP1’s. They offered a solid and clean stroke but didn’t look as good as the Burner’s when lining up to the ball.

I also made the move from the regular shaft to stiff shafts on the iron’s and saw an extra 10-20 yards on every strike. I’ve only played one round with the Burner’s so far and really enjoyed them. I can’t wait to get out on the range and actually work on my game with them.
