Love Is Chess

I miss you more than ever,
My gut is awfully numb.
Not being with you,
Is like not being at all.

It tears my heart apart to think,
That we just aren’t meant to be.
In this game of love and pain,
I’m the pawn and you’re the queen.
Only moving one square at a time,
You’re everywhere but on mine.
It’s my turn to make a move,
But I’m to scared that I might lose.
All I want is to share your square,
But when I move you’re never there.

(Chorus)
I miss you more than ever,
My gut is awfully numb.
Not being with you,
Is like not being at all.

Move any direction your heart desires,
This board is yours to control.
I’ll let you tell me where to go,
But in six months I’ll be your king.
If it’s too much to bare,
I’ll be your knight instead.
If my queen is in distress,
an L shaped path is your best bet.

(Bridge)
When you need a safe place to stay,
I’ll be the castle of your dreams.
Call me your rook if you will,
I’ll hold you tight and keep you still.

(Chorus)
I miss you more than ever,
My gut is awfully numb.
Not being with you,
Is like not being at all.
